"I was born in England which, at times, has been my home away from home, but having grown up in and around Taradale, this is where my heart is happiest.  I spent nearly 20 years in Auckland, which was just a tad too fast-paced for me, so I am very pleased to be settling back here in sunny Hawkes Bay.

I enjoy gardening, walking and working out at the gym. Afterwards I like to unwind with yoga, meditation or a well-earned massage!

My massage training began in 1994 when, at the age of 24, I received my very first massage. At the end of that sublime hour my only thought was, “Where do I learn how to do this?”

I believe that massage is one of the most powerful methods of assisting healing and follows nature’s path to health and wellbeing. We all instinctively know how to relieve pain and discomfort – what’s the first thing you do when you bang your elbow, or your so-called “funny bone?” – You rub it!

Included in my professional development and post-graduate studies is the lighter therapeutic touch of Palliative and Oncology Massage and two different methods of Lymphatic Drainage.

My most recent training in Melbourne, in late 2019, was in the Dr. Vodder method of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT). This combination of MLD, exercise therapy, compression bandaging/taping and skin care enables me to offer the successful management of Lymphoedema, Lipoedema and other Chronic Oedema conditions to clients.

In the past I have utilised my office administration and massage skills to set up practices in both New Zealand and England.

Now that I am settled back home in sunny Hawkes Bay, I am very excited join the experienced team of health professionals at Serenity Massage Therapy."
