"I was born in England which, at times, has been my home away from home, but having grown up in and around Taradale, this is where my heart is happiest.  I spent nearly 20 years in Auckland, which was just a tad too fast-paced for me, so I am very pleased to be settling back here in sunny Hawkes Bay.

I enjoy gardening, walking and working out at the gym. Afterwards I like to unwind with yoga, meditation or a well-earned massage!

My massage training began in 1994 when, at the age of 24, I received my very first massage. At the end of that sublime hour my only thought was, “Where do I learn how to do this?”

I believe that massage is one of the most powerful methods of assisting healing and follows nature’s path to health and wellbeing. We all instinctively know how to relieve pain and discomfort – what’s the first thing you do when you bang your elbow, or your so-called “funny bone?” – You rub it!

Working in the field of sports and deep tissue massage is where I started out but, gradually over the last 10 years, my professional development and post-graduate work has shifted my focus towards the lighter therapeutic touch of Palliative, Oncology and Lymphatic Massage.

My most recent training in Melbourne in late 2019, was in the Dr Vodder method of Manual Lymph Drainage. This has expanded my knowledge, which now enables me to offer this method of management of Lymphoedema and other Chronic Edema conditions to clients.

In the past, utilising my office administration and massage skills gave me the opportunity to successfully set up in private practice both in New Zealand and England.

I am now very excited to be joining the experienced team of health professionals at Serenity Massage Therapy in Taradale."
